“Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.”
-- Paulo Coelho
Harvest 2018 kicked off October 1st! Syrah was the first varietal off the vine. We’re seeing a beautiful harvest and healthy vines. Jimmy’s garden is also producing a plentiful bounty of produce. Look to the left as you drive up to the tasting room and you’ll see tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, leafy greens, eggplant, and giant pumpkins!
In July, construction was completed on a beautiful redwood stage by the Cabernet Sauvignon block. By September, it had already hosted a wedding, a birthday party, and a Doce Robles Sunset event. We are eagerly anticipating the finalization of our remodel on the event center, with the next step being “project groundwork.” Join us for an event in 2019 to see the beautiful new space!
July also brought a deconstruction – the massive oak tree in the parking lot suddenly dropped a huge limb during open hours on a Sunday afternoon, blocking entry to the parking lot. Thankfully, only one barrel planter was damaged. We called in an arborist and the parking lot was open by the following morning.

2012 Estate Petite Sirah
Sweet and spice and everything nice on the nose, with aromas of blackberry, baked apple, spice box, baker’s chocolate, leather, and cigar box. Juicy and bright on the palate, with flavors of tart cherry, young blackberry, Bing cherry, soft spice, red candy apple, supple leather and black pepper.
2015 Estate Malbec
Crimson velvet mouthfuls showcase incredibly dense, dark fruit and excellent aromas of blueberry, wood-spice, and vanilla mocha. BIG characters perfect for pairing with BIG flavors without overpowering the wine. Think of fire-grilled meats marinated in molasses, ginger, orange zest, fennel and black peppercorn.
NV Estate Sunset Red V
A very fun sassafras and raspberry blend drives the nose. As it opens up you get more potpourri and spice essences. The taste is very juicy and fresh with a great oak profile. Brambles and black cherry are prominent with cranberry and vanilla hints. The wine has nice bright acids that the tannins keep in check until a smooth finish.
2013 Estate Syrah
This wine has beautiful crimson color and even consistency from core to edge. This wine has an interesting nose of vanilla, molasses, subtle cooling spearmint, wet gravel, blackberry, and plum. The flavor profile of this wine is replete with white pepper, black currant, cranberry, pomegranate and tart cherry.
2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Ripe Paso fruit jumps from the glass, with Bing cherry, young blackberry, black currant, raspberry, strawberry, exotic spice, cherry candy, hard leather, spice box and a hint of black pepper. Juicy and fresh on the palate, with flavors of Bing cherry juice, wild strawberry, spice box, raspberry, bramble, red currant, cranberry, leather, slate mineral and toasty oak.
2013 Estate Sy-Rific-Cab
On the nose, this wine is lively, bright and full of fruit! Fresh blueberry, blackberry and raspberry lead the way. These are followed by jammy strawberry, sweet spice, red licorice and a hint of beautiful Indian incense. On the palate, this wine hugs the sweet spot between sweet and tart, savory and juicy, with flavors of young strawberry, blackberry reduction, cherry bark, red licorice, red apple jolly rancher, sweet spice and a hint of black pepper.

We’re heartbroken over the loss of our sweet and gentle soul Genna Rose. Loved by many, Genna was peaceful, loving, bright, and attentive. She loved her family and protected us fiercely. She taught her best friend Sophie the ins and outs of being a winery dog and raised her to be a happy, playful girl. Genna, you will live forever in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace.
Parties, Festivals, Charity Events, & More...
We’re wrapping up our third year of the Rising Moon Sunset Series. We’ve heard fabulous music, had delicious food, and shared countless laughs and cheers. Jimmy’s moonlit vineyard hayrides made everyone nostalgic for the good ol’ country days and late-night karaoke was “So good! So good! So good!” (We’ve heard a lot of “Sweet Caroline” in the tasting room.)
We continue to feel so blessed to be able to be a part of this beautiful wine community. We are thankful to you, our members, who support our efforts to produce great wines and help create wonderful, everlasting memories.
Looking forward to 2019…
