Your Latest Dose of Doce

Bare vines and Live Oak trees during winter

Vineyard Vitals

El Niño, where are you?!  We’ve been waiting and waiting for the rain but at the time of writing have had only two mild storms this season.  Weather certainly continues to be the talk of the town, with record temperature highs hitting throughout California in January and February.  We’re crossing our fingers for a rainy spring!

Maribeth’s home, er, Maribeth and Jimmy’s home, has received its final touches inside and work has begun on the exterior! They have added a 1200 square foot deck that is absolutely lovely and will be the perfect place to sit, sip wine, enjoy views, and relax on warm summer evenings.

This year the crew at Doce Robles is emphasizing connecting with our wine club members and our community.  We have planned some great parties that we are looking forward to and will be participating in local festivals and events.  In addition, our philanthropic efforts are greater than ever.  We are donating more wine and more time to local organizations and community programs.  We hope to see our wine club members at some of our events!  See the back page to find out where you can hang with us, and check our website for updates and events!

Winemaker’s Notes

** Each barrel was hand-selected for the blends in your shipment **

2010 Barbera High acidity and bright fruit with notes of chocolate, we think this vintage of Barbera is even better than the last.

2010 Zinfandel This brambly classic is the perfect balance of fruit, oak, and spice.

2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Cherry, cassis and spice aromas with toasty herb flavors and a clean grabby tannic finish.

2010 Sy-rific-cab This 60% Syrah/40% Cabernet Sauvignon has minty walnut aromas with hints of cedar finishing with bright black cherry and bourbon vanilla.

Sunset Red IV A unique non-vintage, all-estate blend that ages nicely. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Barbera, & Zinfandel, with flavors of blackberry, licorice, and spice.

2010 Robles Rojos A Doce Robles classic, this Bordeaux-style blend is 40% Cab, 40% Merlot, & 20% Cabernet Franc. Flavors of raspberry and chocolate with a creamy vanilla finish.

The Spring 2016 Lineup

Critter Corner!

What a life, to be a beloved pet living on the Doce Robles farm.  Minnie basked in the warmth of love and affection from tasters this winter, leaving her bed at the end of the tasting room bar only to eat and for the occasional stretch and strut down the counter.

Genna was diagnosed with EPI after dropping 15 lbs and a trip to the doggie ER on Thanksgiving.  She now takes powder supplements with her breakfast and dinner and is expected to live a long and healthy life, but unfortunately, won’t be able to be a mom.

Now that all the animals are settled in the new house and Genna is healthy again, Maribeth is on the search for a new puppy addition to the family.  We’re excited to find a friend for Genna!
